THE BEST SUMMER DRESSES FOR 2020

The temperature soared in Paris last week, and I realised that I didn’t have enough easy to wear, go with everything summer dresses. I have three favourites that I’ve been wearing on rotation that I’ve had for a few years now, but I’ve been wanting to invest in a couple more that I can just throw on for any occasion, plus a couple more that I can pack for my week in the south of France at the end of the month. I’m renting a house along with a few girlfriends for the last week of July as we all needed something to look forward to. I’m very aware of how lucky I am to live in Paris and to be able to have easy access to the south of France, so we decided to book quick and make the most of it.

I know very few of us will be leaving the country we live in or going on holiday this year, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still dress for the weather or pop on a dress just to make ourselves feel good. There’s nothing like putting on a pretty dress that flatters your figure to boost your mood. Even if it’s wearing it for a trip to the supermarket or for a walk in the park. So I’ve created a huge edit of summer dresses that includes silhouettes in linen, pretty prints, sleeved options and neutral hues - these are all styles and colours that you’re likely to have for years to come. So even if you won’t be holidaying until 2021, at least your wardrobe will feel like you are.

I’ve included many of my favourite brands, such as Ganni - see the dress I’m wearing in the photos. It’s a little more expensive than high street options, but considering I’ve had it going on four years and I’ve worn it on a myriad of occasions, including a wedding in Napa Valley, it’s earned its price tag two fold. Other brands include Rixo, Sleeper, British brand Whistles, Reformation and the Line by K, which does beautiful elevated basics, as well as high street options from the likes of Arket, COS, H&M and Mango. But even the dresses I’ve cherry-picked with a lower price tag are styles that won’t go out of fashion any time soon. Enjoy and happy shopping!
