Style Edit: the best swimwear pieces for the beach or pool

Now that it’s officially summer, my mind is drifting towards our upcoming holiday in the south of France. I feel incredibly lucky to have the beauty of this part of the country on my doorstep and so we are repeating almost the same itinerary that we organised two years ago, as it was so enjoyable. And, as I said to Victor, while we were contemplating what to do this summer, we now have a car so we might as well use it! Plus I love a road trip, and after all the organizing I did for Egypt (like a part-time job for two months), I wanted to do something simple, already tried and tested and enjoy a more relaxing holiday. So, in eight weeks time (still sounds so far away when I put it into weeks), we will be packing the car and driving the nearly eight hours to Arles - the first stop on our two-week trip. We won’t actually be visiting a beach this holiday (you might remember we were in Bali last year and enjoyed our fair share), but I plan on lounging in the garden of one of the airbnbs that we’ve booked, or swimming in a gorge, river or the pool of our last hotel, so of course I’ve started thinking about what I will wear.

As with the rest of my wardrobe, I now have my go-to brands that I like to wear and have my eyes on a couple of new pieces. My current favorite brand for flattering swimwear is Hunza G (this one-piece that was created in collaboration with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for her brand Rose Inc is on my wishlist) and I now have at least three pieces that I bring out every summer. I also think Arket do a great selection of affordable pieces (I’m wearing this one in the photo), as do COS and Everlane. Another brand I’m a big fan of, as you might have noticed from my recent delivery from Mytheresa, is Toteme, and although pricier, I know I will keep the pieces for years to come. So here is a selection of swimwear pieces I love, to make your search a little easier. Which are your favorite brands for swimwear?
