Welcome to Rue Rodier ~ my online road to better, more beautiful living and Interior Design Studio

I have always had a keen eye for aesthetics, art, style and interiors - growing up I devoured books, visited galleries on the weekends with my parents and spent hours redesigning my bedrooms and it has since seeped into my career life. Whilst working full time in the publishing industry in London, I dabbled with more creative outlets such as photography and edited an East London online magazine about art and culture.

When I packed up my life in the January of 2013 and moved across the channel for a relationship; suddenly finding myself in a new city (arguably the most beautiful and inspiring in the world) gave me the impetus to start this blog. Paris in many ways became my raison d’etre. I launched Rue Rodier (named after the first street I lived on in the 9th arrondissement with my then boyfriend) at the end of 2013. It initially started as a place to document my life in Paris and to showcase my photography, but it has since become a space where I share my passions, namely interiors, style and travel that’s now followed by like-minded readers around the world who love Paris, want an insider’s take on la vie Parisienne and who also have a penchant for all things beautiful, stylish and unique!

My aim is to inspire, empower and encourage you to live better through those interests and to make changes - however big or small to your life, so you can live it to the fullest. I also often interview women (and men) who inspire me - those who are living creative, fulfilling lives, with a unique sense of style, in beautiful homes that reflect their personalities and tell their stories, and who live their version of better living. After a decade of living in the French capital, I’ve also learnt a thing or two from the Parisians - so I decided to write a book about it and in September 2021 I published PRACTISING PARISIENNE: lifestyle secrets from the city of lights. You can order it on Amazon in the UK, Europe, Australia, the USA and New Zealand, just by typing in the title. It’s an amalgamation of everything I’ve learnt living in Paris for nearly a decade, split into five sections - style, interiors, beauty & skincare, food & wine and relationships, love & dating - along with my personal story of how I ended up in Paris, plus contributions from +30 Parisians of note. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did writing it.

Today I spend my days designing interiors for clients, helping them create beautiful and thoughtfully-curated homes that are functional, as well as reflective of who they are. You can find my design services here.
