The Camel Coat

Photographed in Place Dauphine, Paris

I can’t believe it’s December tomorrow, anyone else? I feel like this month has passed faster than the previous ones, probably because I’ve been working non-stop, including weekends and because Christmas is just around the corner – funny how the holidays creep up on us so quickly! It happens to me every year, or perhaps that’s just me? I never feel prepared – my head is still in September.

In an attempt to put my mind into autumn/ winter (well, winter if we go by Paris weather - it snowed this evening, yes snowed!!) I wanted to talk about one of my favourite wardrobe items, as it's been on my wish list for a long time. The camel coat. If you buy one thing this season (besides a hat and gloves, oh and perhaps a quilted jacket if you live in colder climes) invest in a camel coat. I'm all about investment buys, so trust me – this item is timeless. It’s the kind of piece that if you look after it, will look after you - meaning you can wear it anywhere, with anything and for any occasion. It will last for years and remain in style forever (hopefully). I think it’s the one coat that makes a comeback every winter and still looks cool. I'd suggest going for an over-sized style (like the one I'm wearing), which is not only warmer, but more modern. Is it on your wish list too?
