PREPPING FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON WITH DE BIJENKORF

I love the holiday season. I enjoy nothing more at this time of year, than putting on a pot of mulled wine, bringing out the mince pies and turning up the Christmas music. I also love decking the halls, but do prefer to keep decorations on the more minimal, yet cosier side of things (with the odd kitsch tree decoration thrown in for fun). So I’m very excited to partner with the 150year-old Dutch department store, de Bijenkorf who have just launched in France. De Bijenkorf stocks a myriad of Scandinavian, as well as international designers and brands. With a focus on Nordic and a more minimal aesthetic - I had a field day selecting a few pieces from some of my favourite brands to adorn my apartment with.

With this year being the first Christmas that I’m going to be spending in Paris without family, I’ve decided that I’m going to make the most of it and am already cooking up ideas of how I can enjoy it as much as possible, despite the current climate. Luckily I’ll be able to see friends and a new special someone, so I won’t be on my own thankfully, but I already feel sad that I won’t be able to see my family and friends back home. So I’m aiming to make my new apartment as cosy, warm and as festive as possible!

I chose two beautiful vases (if you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that I love a good vase filled with fresh blooms), a while sculptural ceramic one from HK Living and the other, a glass vase from Hay that I’ve had my eye on for a while – both are pieces that I can use over the festive period and of course for the rest of the year. I also choose some ceramic plates from Broste Copenhagen and a Villeroy & Boch cutlery set so I can dress up my dining table. And finally I picked a few tree decorations – some white baubles and a fun croissant shape, because of course I’ve got to sneak in a little something French into my decorating. I hope this will inspire you to make the most of the holiday season, whether you’re with family or not and if you're looking for present ideas de Bijenkorf also offers gift cards, which will make things a little easier when it comes to trying to find something for a loved one!
