Interior Inspiration: Villa Tasca, the Sicilian palazzo featured in The White Lotus

I might have been a little late to the party, but I recently devoured The White Lotus, with the second season (perhaps unsurprisingly) being my favorite. Aside from the plot and the characters’ shenanigans, I was gripped by the Sicilian vistas, grandiose buildings and decadent interiors; in particular, I found myself drawn to the neoclassical charm of Villa Tasca.

You might have noticed this amazing 16th century palazzo in the show when Daphne (Meghann Fahy) whisks Harper (Aubrey Plaza) away to the small Sicilian town of Noto. Regardless of whether you’ve seen the show or not, it’s easy to fall for its period charm, which transports you back to a bygone era.

Situated between Palermo and Monreale and set amongst 20 acres of sprawling gardens, Villa Tasca is a palazzo combining Renaissance Italian architecture with plush Neoclassical furnishings. Each room is just as lavish as it appears on the show, boasting trompe l’oeil frescoes and exquisite Murano chandeliers. The grand reception rooms and double staircase would make it the ultimate villa for hosting events. I know we have yet to even make it to Spring, but this villa has me dreaming of sipping champagne in my best attire on a balmy summer evening.

Although, admittedly, it’s more colorful and extravagant than my usual taste, I’ve found myself inspired by the almost Rococo levels of excess. Whilst I don’t think I’ll be recreating this entire look at home any time soon, I do love the idea of bringing in a few flourishes of neoclassical excess into a space. To help you, we’ve created an edit of items that you can add to your home for some opulent Italian-inspired style.

And, if you (like me) are now dreaming of a trip to Italy after finishing season 2, it just so happens that Villa Tasca is available to rent on Airbnb!
