HOW TO LOOK CHIC IN THE SNOW

Photographed in Jardin du Luxembourg, Paris

I don't profess to be an expert for winter wonderland dressing. As someone who grew up in south east England and now calls Paris home, I haven't spent a lot of my life frolicking around in fluffy white snow, but there's something to be said for a good hat and a slick of red lipstick. Add a red knit and a pair of boots, or in this case 'hiker shoes' as they're called - that you don't slip and slide around on the snow in, with red laces, et voila, chic in the snow.

When it snows in Paris - a special sight to see - you've got to get out and photograph it! Although the same goes for any city where snow is rarely on the weather forecast. So I put the rest of my editorial content on hold to make sure I got some shots in the Jardin du Luxembourg, one of the city's prettiest parks. The month of January was so rainy and grey that besides work events and meetings, hibernation was at the top of my agenda. But as soon as the snow hit Paris a few days ago and the city was suddenly covered in a beautiful blanket of snow, I immediately wanted to spend more time outside. Out came my hiker shoes that I purchased for a ski-trip last February and a red lip to match the laces, obviously. So I've put together a few of my favourite items that will help you pack for your next ski trip and dress better for snowy weather, because shoes - especially ones that you can roam around the snow in - are an essential (if you live somewhere where snow is possible of course or if you like to ski) and are worth investing in!
