The summer style edit

Summer suddenly arrived in Paris with little to no warning a couple of weeks ago and we went from 15 degrees to 25 within a couple of days! Luckily I have a lot of summer pieces from the last few years, plus my trip to Egypt earlier this year, so I haven’t felt too unprepared and last weekend I finally swapped my wardrobe over, so thought it was time to put together a summer style edit.

My summer style remains pretty much the same year on year and is made up of staple pieces that I consider to be part of my summer capsule wardrobe - light, looser fitting trousers and jeans, linen pants, leather flats from brands like ATP Atelier - I’ve had these Rosa sandals for five years; basket bags (I’m still a big fan of the Loewe basket bag - an investment piece that you’ll be wearing for many summers to come), light shirts, tank tops, a denim jacket (for cooler days and evenings), linen blazers - I’ve been wearing this short sleeved style (in the photos) non-stop since it arrived.

This year I’ve added a few longer skirts into the mix (I love this wrap skirt from Toteme for example - it’s pricer, but it’s a piece you will have for years), plus more tailoring - waistcoats are big this year and can be worn with any style of trouser, plus they look incredibly chic and effortless. I’ll also be sporting my Tevas this summer as they’re the comfiest sandal for exploring, especially if you have sensitive feet like mine (just dress them up with a cute dress in the evening). I love their collaboration with Chloe, and if I have any extra to spend this summer, this style is high on my wishlist.

And so I’ve curated a collection of pieces that can be mixed and matched - worn together or separate depending on the occasion. The key to a great summer wardrobe is versatility and one with pieces that all work together - hence I stick to a mainly minimal palette. I hope this will make choosing what to wear in warmer weather a little easier - let me know what you think in the comment section below.
