Interior Inspiration: The Invisible Collection's Parisian showroom, 'Rive Gauche'

You might have noticed a plethora of interiors platforms and marketplaces springing up in the past few years, a trend that has only accelerated post-Covid after we spent an unprecedented amount of time at home. Most of the big e-commerce sites too (I’m thinking Net-A-Porter, Matches and Farfetch) have all now launched homeware sections, plus more and more fashion brands are creating interiors collections. One of the first to focus on the home, albeit within the high-end arena, is The Invisible Collection, which was launched in 2016 by Anna Zaoui; Isabelle Dubern-Mallevays and Lily Froehlicher, who between them bring a wealth of business, design, fashion and interiors acumen to the online shopping destination. Specialising in the hand-selection of young talent and providing them with a platform to showcase their work, the online marketplace also throws light onto craftsmanship, unique furniture and artistic pieces for the home. They “celebrate the icons of tomorrow and the vanguards that paved the way”.

After opening physical showrooms in London and New York, they have now moved their attention to Paris. The 'Rive Gauche' showroom, which is more gallery than showroom in the typical sense, has taken up residence in the home of Mayaro Editions, a gallery, curator, publisher and furniture editor known for spotlighting French craft and custom-made pieces that are also available through The Invisible Collection.

It's not often that you will find a commercial space highlighted in my Interior Inspiration series, but the showroom itself - a striking three-story, mid-19th century space that is a few minutes walk from Les Invalides and Champs de Mars in the 7th arrondissement, houses a thoughtful collection of curated design pieces and a very beautiful interior. And it has opened with an installation curated by Lisbon based multi-disciplinary design studio, Garcé & Dimofski. 'Passages' is a poetic tribute to Walter Benjamin's seminal writings on Paris that explore the interconnection of history, art, architecture and culture that embodies The Invisible Collection's French aesthetic - creatives and designers exhibiting are among a few of my favorites and include, designer Garance Vallée, who has just launched a collaboration with one of my preferred rug brands, Nordic Knots, Parisian furniture brand famed for their highly coveted and luxurious curved sofas, Pierre Augustin Rose, and London-based interior designer, Charlotte Taylor. Below I've put together a collection of items that will help you infuse the style into your own home.

The Invisible Collection is open for visitation by-appointment.
