Photo Diary: Skiing in La Clusaz

Last week I was lucky enough to return to La Clusaz ski resort in the Alps - you might remember that we were there for lunch on New Year’s day - and I’ve been trying to find a reason to go back. Fortuitously one of Victor’s old college friends invited us to join him and a few other friends in his family’s 150 year old chalet (his grandfather purchased it a few decades ago), which we actually spotted from the road the last time we were there. It’s a beautiful rustic chalet and comes complete with low-beamed ceilings, sleigh beds, a wood burning stove, a 70s-style kitchen, little heating, no wifi and a 30min hike to reach it - it’s perched high on a hill and has no access by road, but this is part of its charm! Plus it faces the mountains and has the most incredible views. It’s an experience staying there - like living in a different, simpler time.

We spent the days skiing (well, me attempting to) and the evenings sat by the fire, and then dining on tartiflette or raclette. It was a perfect mini break. Below I’ve linked a few of the items I took with me - Fusalp kindly leant me a ski outfit, which included the Fusalp Anouk jacket and Fusalp Tipi III ski Fuseau ski pants, and I wore my own Rossignol gloves and rented a helmet, boots and skis.
