Swimwear & accessories to see you through to next summer

I’ve been back in Paris a couple of weeks now, and admittedly it’s been a jolt to the system going from daily sunshine, blue skies and warm weather to what has been mainly grey and tepid. I have certainly suffered from holiday blues and am only finally getting back into the swing of things. Luckily we soaked up some sun in the Bois de Vincennes (the wood just outside of Paris) this weekend, but today, in true Monday spirit, it is back to grey and chilly. But summer isn’t over and we’re hoping to have more warm weather at the end of the week. Plus September is usually warm in Paris. So I thought I’d give you a round-up of my favourite summer accessories that you can wear through to next summer and beyond.

Like the rest of my wardrobe, my swimwear and accessories are usually quite minimal and timeless. For example the panier (basket bag) is now three years old and I have the same Rosa sandals in three different colours that I’ve been wearing every year for the past five. I also have a couple of staple items that I don’t leave home without when on the way to the pool, beach (or park) - these being a good coverup, which is a linen or cotton shirt; I have white, beige and black; sunglasses, high sunscreen and of course a hat. I have both a cap and a larger straw style to protect my neck and chest a little more when reading.

We shot these photos whilst staying near Uzès for a few glorious few days.
