The summer skirt edit
I feel like I’m on a bit of a roll with my blog posts recently… One because I’ve finally finished going over the edits of my book (the very last ones I emailed over today) - a process that was almost as long as writing the book and two, since summer feels like it’s arrived in Paris, I can feel my mentality shifting towards lighter, and happier, and therefore more motivated and creative. The past year has been a rough ride for so many I know, but I also felt it very keenly in my career and personal life. My confidence certainly did a nose-dive last year when I lost the majority of my work and I’m working on building it up again.. Anyway, I digress… warmer weather and rays of sun have been so welcome (and needed!)
My summer style edit is nearly ready, but in the meantime I wanted to give you a round-up of summer skirts as the humble skirt is probably the easiest thing to throw on that doesn’t leave you looking like you’re dressed for the beach or too overdressed - which is a non non in Paris. And I’ve also been wearing this Rouje skirt (‘jupe Capucine’) non-stop the last couple of weeks as it’s comfy and looks great with a white tee and plimsoles so immediately starting looking for similar options, so I’m not wearing the same thing every day!
Sometimes a dress can feel a little too dressed up, so a few short and slightly floaty skirts in your capsule summer wardrobe, are a brilliant compromise that’s comfy and elegant at the same time. Just pair with a white tee or tank, throw over a blazer when the sun goes down and team with plimsoles or sandals (for holiday or a soirée. Et voila, easy timeless summer look that you can wear again and again - I always have a denim skirt in my suitcase when on holiday too. I’ve split my skirt finds into to three categories to make your search easier. Hope you enjoy the post!
