TOP TRENCH COATS FOR SPRING

Photographed in Kensington, London

If you've been following along on Instagram, you'll have noticed that I spent the past couple of weeks in Kent and London, catching up with friends and family, and then attending London Fashion Week. I wore this trench on repeat for the shows, right before the polar winds blew in from Siberia, yep - it was so cold, I got sick AGAIN! My mum sent me back to Paris with bottles of vitamins as the ol' immune system is clearly not functioning as it should right now...

If you read my previous post on investment buys, you'll know that I'm a big believer in spending money on timeless items that were made to last. (A no brainer really, but something to always keep in mind when shopping.) A good quality trench is one of those wardrobe essentials that will never go out of style and it's my favourite must-have staple for spring. While the polar winds are rife for the next few days in Paris too (so no trench wearing for the foreseeable future), I'm opting to look ahead to milder days as I like to plan for the following season. I cannot tell you how excited I am for warmer weather. Despite growing up in the UK with a Norwegian heritage (my grandfather), I have never liked the cold.  Even when wearing this trench last week, I played it safe and layered a polo neck under a knit (always protect your neck, kids - a lesson learnt), matched with white jeans, a slick of red lippy and dusty pink boots, et voilà a very easy and wearable outfit perfect for spring, and prepared just in case those chilly winds return. What's on your shopping list for spring?
