Galentine's Day at Galeries Lafayette

If you were watching my stories on Wednesday, you would have seen that I was lucky enough to spend a day being royally spoiled at Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann for Galentine's Day - aka Valentine's Day but with your gal friends! If you don't know Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann, I suggest you add it to your Paris visit-list. This huge department store with a rich history that began at the end of the 19th century, offers everything from beauty, fashion and accessories to sweet treats! And inside the regal building that sprawls along Boulevard Haussmann, is an intricate and beautiful glass dome (see photos above and below), and there are some of the best views of the city from the roof terrace. (Scroll down for photos).

We started with a make-up session in the beauty hall with YSL, Clarins and Lancôme. I was brilliantly looked after by the staff at YSL beauty, who began with literally painting my face with their Top Secrets Moisture Glow after explaining that my skin was a little dry. It gave my skin some much-needed hydration and acted as a primer. She then applied the Fusion Ink Cushion Foundation, followed by the iconic YSL Touche Éclat.  Finally I was given the perfect smokey eye using the Eye Duo Smoker in bronze and a classic red lip.

After we headed up to the 3rd floor for lunch at Angelina - a renowned Paris restaurant that serves French food and some of Paris' most famous pastries. If you've never been, you must first try their classic Mont Blanc and a cup of hot chocolate, which is deliciously decadent!  After a caesar salad for starter, followed by baked salmon - from their upcoming Valentine's Day menu, I opted for the Délice au Caramel and a pot of the Thé Melange Angelina, which made for the perfect accompaniment to our girly chats.
