Lisbon // Part 3: Cascais & Sintra

So here's the third and final part of my Lisbon trip. It feels like such a long time ago, but I wanted to share the rest of my photos as the trip was so epic! On the Saturday after wandering around Lisbon, we jumped into vintage VW camper vans and headed up the coast, first to Cascais to see the Boca do Inferno (Hell's Mouth) - a cavernous opening in the side of a craggy cliff that allows light and water to stream through - and then to catch the sunset in Sintra. Once the summer resistance of the Portuguese royal family and a royal sanctuary during World War II, the town now swarms with tourists. It's home to some of the most beautiful palaces I've ever seen, each beautifully intricate and different in style and architecture. Roman Polanski's 1999 film The Ninth Gate starring Johnny Depp was partly filmed there.
