Summer has been very fickle so far, changing the weather like we women like to change our clothes… And if you’re like me and suffer from SAD, it might have induced a rollercoaster of emotions, as well as complete wardrobe confusion. The amount of times I’ve left home in what I thought was sensible summer footwear, only to be caught out in a torrential downpour and ruining said (not so) sensible shoes. I’ve been resorting to wearing jeans and winter boots when it’s been far too warm outside for socks, just because I don’t want to squelch around Paris with wet feet. Just yesterday, feeling a little more daring, I wore barely there sandals to a friend’s birthday, because it was indeed warm enough, only to be greeted by a tropical downpour which I was ill-equipped for. I had to wait it out before moving onto a work event. Anyway enough schizophrenic weather chat, but I am British so you’ll have to excuse me.
Today is officially summer, so I thought (even if the weather continues to misbehave like a child who’s had a little too much sugar), I’d share a round-up of items that I’ll be wearing in the next few months, come rain or shine. Luckily it looks like temperatures are finally set to rise in Paris for the next week and they’re even forecast to creep up to 30 degrees in London at the end of the next week, where I’ll be for meetings and to visit friends before the holidays. So here’s my selection of pieces to get you prepped for warmer climates.
